Please see the following message from the President of the Placentia Chamber of Commerce:

I hope this message finds you all doing well. The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency has provided its challenges to the way we conduct business and provide services to our clients and communities. I trust you have been able to find ways to adapt, sustain and maintain operations through these times.

The Placentia Chamber of Commerce would like to take this opportunity to connect with its members and stakeholders. Our office has recently reopened following an extended closure. Like most organizations, the pandemic has impacted the way we conduct business and our anchor events. As we move forward, our aim is to continue to provide our members and community with important programs and supports.

The Chamber would like to welcome Anita O’Keefe to the organization as our full-time staff resource person. In her role as Chamber Manager she will be responsible for all aspects of the operation of our organization. Anita brings a variety of skills and experience in research, entrepreneurship, event management, logistics and community engagement to this role. She is anxious to connect with you in carrying out the mandate of the organization. Please feel free to connect with Anita by e-mail at anita.okeefe@placentiachamber.ca or phone at 709-227-0003.

We are also pleased to have Winnie Barry and Evelyn Ennis in our office for the upcoming months. As Program Developer and Program Support Staff respectively, these two experienced staff members will assist with the preparation and delivery of programs and services to our members and the community. We graciously acknowledge the support of the Canada – Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement in making these positions possible.

In the coming weeks and months, you can expect to receive more information from the Chamber and learn more about upcoming activities. We hope you will take time to participate and take advantage of the opportunities and benefits that are available to Chamber members. We also look forward to scheduling our Annual General Meeting in early 2021.

If you have any question or comments you are invited to contact the Chamber office. Please note that our COVID Operating Plan limits access to the office and you are requested to schedule an appointment prior to visiting in person.

Please continue to stay safe and healthy.

Regards,

WAYNE POWER

President
