EUGENE COLLINS

Executive Director

Eugene (Gene) Collins is the Executive Director of the Placentia Chamber of Commerce and has been in this role since January of 2011. As Executive Director, he provides services to the membership through project management, logistical planning, professional development, benefits administration, office management, fundraising, and community event management.  His knowledge of the Chamber and its inner workings go back to 2007, when he first took on the role of Project Manager with the Chamber.

Gene graduated from College of the North Atlantic with a diploma in Hospitality and Hotel Management.  He has also completed various accounting courses, a Community Recreation Leadership Program, and numerous professional development programs.  Continuing education is a big part of his day to day, and he believes this to be an important part of success and development both personally and professionally.

In his volunteer work, he is the President of Placentia Rowing Club Inc. and has been since 2004.  He is also the President of the Placentia and St. Mary’s PC Association since 1994. Gene is also a very talented and experienced lead vocalist with a local band, performing in many different venues for over 25 years.

WINNIE BARRY

Program Director

Winnie is the Program Coordinator for the Placentia Chamber of Commerce since 2012.  With over 40 years of office administration, event management and planning experience, her skill set proves invaluable on a daily basis.  Through her volunteer and professional experiences, she effectively works with many community stakeholders in both private and non-profit sectors.

Winnie has strong dedication and commitment to community growth and heritage development.  Among her many other daily tasks, she ensures the success of the Chamber’s major annual events.  Through her coordination of the Placentia Bay Industrial Showcase, she helps the Chamber bring investors and information-seekers together in a professional and seamlessly organized conference promoting the area.  The Age Friendly Placentia initiative and annual expo has grown tremendously with Winnie’s support, vision and management.
